This role is central to our data strategy and requires a balance of technical expertise and business acumen. As the first data hire at 44pixels, the Analytics Engineer will be at the heart of our data-driven initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to transform raw data into actionable insights. Your work will directly influence key decisions across product development, marketing strategies, and business performance.

Responsibilities:

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and maintain efficient and reliable data pipelines using a modern data stack (e.g., Airflow, GBQ, DBT)
• Data Modeling: Develop advanced data models to support complex analytics, including user behavior analysis, engagement metrics, and profitability models
• Collaboration: Work with product, marketing, and engineering teams to understand their data requirements and translate these into sophisticated technical solutions
• Dashboard Development: Assist in building key dashboards in data visualization tools like Looker/Lightdash/Redash to enable data-driven decision-making
• Experimentation: Design and implement robust and scalable processes for AB testing with the goal of launching and concluding multiple AB tests in parallel
• Analytical Deep dives: Identify and answer important business and product questions related to our product or marketing performance
• Root cause analysis: Identify and investigate changes and trends in the business and research the root causes and suggest solutions

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of managing experience
• 4 years of professional experience in analytics roles
• Must have prior DBT experience
• Significant experience in analytics engineering, with strong skills in ETL/ELT and data modeling using DBT, Airflow (or similar)
• Proficient to advanced skills with SQL, R or Python and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to self-direct, analyse and evaluate and form independent judgments
• Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with senior management and stakeholders
• Commercially savvy with ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential/sensitive information
• Integrity, ethical standards and sound judgment
• A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject or equivalent experience

Nice-to-haves:

• Foundational knowledge of business finance concepts such as CAC payback periods, Lifetime Value, etc.
• Foundational knowledge of mobile gaming and ad-tech businesses
• Experience building dashboards in the likes of Power BI, Redash, Looker, Lightdash
• Professional experience in a quantitative role in finance, consulting, actuarial or banking
